About Me

So here is what we know about me...

I am a mom to a beautiful trouble making (almost) two year old girl. A wife to a handsome amazing man. And I am obsessed with fabric and sewing.

Want to know a weird thing about me?

I am obsessed with wanting chickens. Chickens to lay eggs. I talk about it all the time and because my husband loves me he humors me and listens. Know what I found out? If we were to buy a house in Madison I am allow to have two chickens within the city limits. TWO!

Want to know other weird things about me? Want to know anything about me in general? Let me know I have a feeling a "Friday- weird things about me" theme is about to come about!

Oh, man! I think it's awesome that you've actually researched your local zoning codes with regard to chicken ownership. (And I'm surprised chickens are allowed in the City limits!)

Well I think that settles it, you have to move to Madison!! I'll make you a deal, you move to Madison, I'll buy you the chickens! How can you pass up that offer? Tell Ken its been decided :-) Oh and by the way, you should return my phone messages, and if you left your cell at work again, you are officially lame, but I love you anyway! :-D

Oh my gosh, you too?!? I'm completely obsessed with having chickens too! In fact, my boyfriend recently promised to build me a chicken coop and buy me some chickens when we buy a house because I talk about it so often.

I had two lovely little chickens when I was younger. =*^.^*= (One was all white- the other was all tan). They were so spoiled!!! They'd come to me when I called for them. =^.^;=

Bonus- they even laid eggs!

Oh, I love me some chickens, too! I had one when I was five. His name was James Oscar. I got him from my kindergarten class after they brought eggs in from a farm to hatch. I "forged" a note from my mom to get it. The teacher got such a kick out of it that she told my mom, and she caved at let me have one. He was awesome! He'd sit on his box and watch my mom iron. I'd totally get some more if I could!

Goats would be cool, too! If the city (and my husband) would let me I'd get some for my backyard for weed control :)

Keep us posted on the chickens!

I live in Australia and I live in a city. I have two chinese silky hens and a black Australian Austrolaupe. Maybe you could come and live next to me! There are a few photos of my girls on my blog. I love what you do. - Jen

Madison, as in Madison, Wisconsin?

Lots of cities are starting to allow hens. I have 3 banty hens and one little rooster and I may have to find him a new home because he does crow (he's a rooster, he's supposed to) - and I love them! Another great thing is they turn mosquitoes into eggs. Like magic.

I think you should get some chickens and blog the entire process...you can have poll where we vote for their names...posting about building the chicken coop...the first eggs, etc. I like where this is going...
