Encouraging Creativity

Ken and I both believe in letting our kids play with the same gadgets we do. So since Leila has been the age of 2 we have always let her and encouraged her to use our digital camera. Not some kid friendly camera but our camera. Luckily we have two cameras and the one Leila prefers happens to be mine so the bumps and bruises hurt Ken a little less. I have been keeping all of Leila's photos and hope to compile them into a blurb book someday for her to look back at and see how far she has come.

With technology comes some great gadgets to use, like the self timer. Leila has recently started using it and asked over the last few days for me to put the camera on the tripod so she could take some pictures. What comes of those pictures both make me laugh and cry. My baby is no longer a baby, but luckily for me she still lets me call her my baby. And says with so much pride to me daily, "i'm Momma's baby"

Yes sweetie, you will always be my baby, no matter what.

Blogging to Blog

If every work day could be laying on the floor in my PJs my life would be complete. I am having issues lately. I want to blog but I feel like I dont have a lot to say. And really I havent been able to make anything lately except so "adorable you could eat them" kids (my opinion entirely). Things are changing though and boy do I have some stories to tell once the words come to me and I am ready to share (nothing terribly exciting, but life in general that I think it is important to share). So for a while if you arent a kid person, sorry its all about the kids. Consider yourself warned.

Month of April in Leila's Eyes

Here it is the newest installment of the Month According to Leila.

This month there were a lot pictures of:
The carpet, here fingers, and Kenson. Oh and of George on TV. I think there may be too much of George, time to hide the TV for the summer I think!

Photographer in the making

As promised, I was able to catch Leila in the act of taking a picture of her so very proud papa.

And here is the result. Granted its not right on but I like the artistic flair of it. I have never really been the typical pride swelling mom when Leila was born. I didnt brag about every milestone, I didnt think she was a baby genius. She was just my cute little girl doing her own thing at her own pace. So you will have to forgive me because now I have become the mom swelling with pride that my amazing little girl has been drawn to a camera and can actually take some pretty good pictures for a 2 year old. Granted there are still TONS of pictures of just grass, or her belly button (dont ask) but when she gets a good one, and granted I know it is the luck of the draw, she gets a good picture. So I am sure down the road there will be more Leila showcases to come.
